Hace unos dias me dirigi a Entel para preguntar por el servicio de internet (oh internet! no puedo vivir sin ti) y pedir la instalacion. Despues de haber hecho fila por mas de media hora, mi esfuerzo fue premiado; recibi la ficha N-362. Cuando ingrese al recinto y le di un vistazo a uno de los televisores que anuncia los turnos, me tope con este desorden:

Disabling Unity and enabling Unity 2D for a faster...
Unity is an awesome feature enabled by default on Ubuntu 11.04 but it consumes (at least in my case) a lot of memory and makes my (old) PC really sluggish.
If you are experiencing the same issue you can use Unity 2D, a simpler version with the same features but running on QT.
To install it, open a terminal and type this:
sudo apt-get install unity-2d

Install the LAMP server on Ubuntu 10.10
After not messing with Ubuntu for almost two years, I decided it was time to give it another shot and I installed Ubuntu 10.10.
Eveything looks super nice now. But when I tried to install LAMP, the option just wasn’t there.
After some research, I found the solution. Just go to your terminal and type this:
sudo apt get install tasksel
After it’s installed, just type:
sudo tasksel

Andaba feliz porque en Navidad recibí un Módem 3G de Viva como regalo hasta que se me ocurrió conectarlo a mi PC con Ubuntu 10.10. Instalé Ruby, Rubygems y todo funcionó muy bien.
Mi problema fue al tratar de instalar Rails 3 usando RubyGems:
